who we are

about us

OUR MISSION:

TO PROCLAIM JUBILEE FROM SEOUL TO ALL NATIONS

Our Values:

Restoration – Restoring our relationships with God, ourselves, others, and creation.

Transformation -Transforming in Christ together as sojourners

Missional – Embodying Christ wherever we are in both word and deed.

Generosity – Practicing the generosity of God with joy

Unity – Pursuing oneness in the greater family of Christ

our Statement of faith:

We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine, the only, and absolute authority for all Christian faith and life.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

We believe that the blood (the death) of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ, are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age, but they are not to be regarded as means of salvation.

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church. This statement is made specifically concerning our belief in the importance of unity in the universal church; that every local church has both the need and responsibility of accountability and encouragement.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the church. This statement is made specifically concerning our belief that due to the specific needs of particular contexts, every local church has the responsibility, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs.

We believe that only those who believe in Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives and the Savior from their sins shall be eligible for membership in the local church.

We believe that it is the duty of all Christians to congregate regularly in the local church context (as much as it is made possible; i.e.- persecution) for the purpose of both corporate and individual maturity in Christ, through active participation and commitment to the full affairs of the local church (i.e.- worship, fellowship, discipleship, service and missions).

We believe in the imminent coming of the glorified Lord Jesus Christ to consummate His Kingdom and that this hope has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead: of the believer to everlasting life and communion with the Lord, of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

Ordinance

Ceremonies

If you feel that Jubilee can be your “home church” in this season of your life, you may want to consider becoming a formal member of Jubilee. Doing so will allow you to be part of the group that leads our community through service and generosity.

Baptism

Several times a year

There are two ordinances that we recognize and practice here at Jubilee, one being baptisms. If you are one that believes in Jesus as your Savior and Lord to want to live to follow all His ways and His purposes, we believe that the Bible teaches us that you should be baptized for there is spiritual significance confessing your faith publicly, before God and fellow believers. Though we honor other forms of baptisms, we practice baptisms in the form of full, water immersion.

Baby Dedication

Bi-annually in Spring and Fall

We provide an opportunity for parents, together with the church community, to thank the Lord for their child, honor Him by recognizing that their child’s true identity and purpose can only be found in Him, and to ask for His blessing that their child will become a person that knows this him/herself. Please send us an email if you are interested in this ceremony.

Communion

First Sunday of The Month

This is the second ordinance that we practice at Jubilee Church as Jesus asked us to remember Him through communion. In the biblical context, this was so because Jews eating together with Gentiles was a clear display confirming Jesus’ work of bringing those once divided, together now in His love. As the cultural context changed over time, the practice of communion changed into a symbolic ordinance that recognized the same. Here at Jubilee, we practice the ordinance of communion every 1st Sunday of the month.

Membership

a Formal Commitment

If you feel that Jubilee can be your “home church” in this season of your life, you may want to consider becoming a formal member of Jubilee. Doing so will allow you to be part of the group that leads our community through service and generosity.

Our next membership class will be in the fall.

Membership

Meeting times: bi-annually in spring and fall

Membership to a local church has value in that it serves as a tangible way to show your intentionality and commitment towards spiritual growth and greater accountability. In such, membership to a local church is different from memberships to most everywhere else, as it is not about what you can get but what you can give. If this rings true to you, please be sure to join the scheduled membership classes. Please note that they are only informative and taking it does not require you to automatically become a member. If you missed the scheduled membership classes, we will work to accommodate your request to take membership class on other dates.
