Gifts of Faith & Grace in Difficult Times

“For grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift from God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” –

Ephesians 2: 8-9

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. – James 1: 2-4

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16

Going through difficult or stressful times can be very hard and results in pain and suffering. We are often quick to focus on worrying about the situation and letting it monopolize all our thoughts, and we forget about the gifts of faith and grace that god has given us.

As we go through this week, let us not be surprised about any hardships that arise, as God has told us that we will experience hardships. But instead of worrying about the hardships, let us appreciate the gift of faith and take confidence from God’s amazing grace. Let these gifts fill our heart, let our eyes be open to see how god is working in us, let our trust in god be that he will ultimately work all things for good, and let us lift up our troubles to God and find peace in the presence of the Lord.
