Happy New Day!

22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. – Ephesians 4:22-24

Happy New Year!

This time of the year is always so exciting and filled with hope for what the new year may bring. It is also this time of the year that we become reflective of the past year and tell ourselves that in the new year, we will shed any old habits that may be harmful, along with trying to improve ourselves in new ways.

However, truth be told, is it not true that many times this “new year high” lasts only for so long? By the end of the month, have you ever found yourself being disappointed in yourself or even legitimately forgetting about the new goal or resolution you had set weeks before?

Regardless of how the past may have gone, this year, rather than setting a yearly goal or even a short term goal, let us first start day by day.

Let us wake up each day with thanksgiving for the day He has given us and to “put on the new self, crated to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).

So to this I say, Happy New Day!
