05 Feb: A Father to the Fatherless

If you know someone who is going through hardships in life, I want to ask you to pray for them today. Can we ask God to reveal Himself to them as their good Father? But not only that, Psalm 68:5 tells us that God is not only their “potential” good father, but that He is ALREADY IS their Father, and that He is the defender of those who cannot defend themselves. And a big way He does that is through His people, whom He has called to be His children and His family. I ask all of us to not be blind to the hurts of this world, but to open our eyes to injustice and the pain of those who are suffering around us… and let’s do something… anything!

18 Mar: A Child of Suffering

Today we mourn the loss of 50 people in New Zealand from another senseless shooting spree. They are sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, and each has a name, a testimony to tell, and are made in the image of God. I cannot begin to comprehend why someone would want to murder women and children. Most suffering is incomprehensible but especially at times like this when there’s such a disconnect between reality and perception.

11 May: When He Returns

This past year the world has experienced much tragedy.  The flight MH370, the Sewol ferry, the Tension in Ukraine and most recently 270 girls were abducted in Nigeria. My heart breaks every morning as I open my CNN application to read the news.  So today I would like to turn our attention to the words of Jesus in Revelation 21, this is where I find hope, this is where I find strength and this is where I find joy.
