13 Apr: DEFINITELY the People, NOT the Building!

There are some silver linings in this pandemic, one being us able to see more clearly what is truly essential for our lives compared to what may not be as essential as we thought. If there ever was a doubt, I believe that there isn’t one now. The people of God gathering regularly to worship the Lord together is essential. Now I’m very grateful for technology to hold us over but I think we can all attest to the fact that virtual services are not, nor can ever be, anything more than a placeholder.

worship

19 Nov: Worship Him, All People!

Worship can be an interesting concept if you are not Christian. What do you mean, I worship someone? I don’t worship anyone else because that is weird. People don’t think that we as humans are worshiping something on a constant basis. We worship stuff, people, concepts. How we are created is to worship something, meaning, to admire and be captivated by something more than ourselves.

vision

07 Jul: With You All The Way

This is one of my favorite chapters in the entire Bible.  It’s a vision of God in the heavenly realms that never fails to strike me with wonder.  The descriptions that Ezekiel gives are quite possibly metaphors to give us understanding of what God is like, nevertheless this is what He saw.  Most of the chapter is dedicated to this incredible depiction of God and the living creatures and how they host His glorious presence.

15 Oct: Jesus Jams

Though not as well as I would like, I’ve been playing guitar for like three decades (wow, do I feel old saying that~~). Now for a guitar player, what is arguably the most annoying thing is a guitar that easily goes out of tune (bad intonation where the guitar is out of tune at various points along the fret board and high action where the strings of the guitar are too far off the fret board, would probably round out the top three of guitar annoyances).
