The Seeds of Clean Air and Blue Skies

Galatians 6:7-10- 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Who would have ever thought that there would ever be a devotional inspired by microdust??? However, there may not be a more relevant devotional topic for those living today in Seoul, ROK. Just look at that picture…. YUCK! SMH!! LORD FORGIVE US!!!!

Now among the many thoughts I have had about this micro-dust epidemic, is this one that I share with us here. As we read in Galatians 6:7-10, we WILL reap what we sow. When people make decisions focused primarily on their own good and not the good of others the result(s) will be bad. In the context of what I’m sharing today, micro-dust is undoubtedly the “weed” that grows from the seed of selfishness; from the “seed” of people not caring about anyone else but making the most money they can at any/all costs. And remember what weeds do; they begin to choke the life out of all the good plants around it.

Unfortunately for those of us who live in Korea, this is not just a metaphor but our daily reality. So though I/we might not be able to do much to reduce the physical micro-dust that so often blankets the Korean peninsula these days, we do have the ability to reduce, and even greatly, the spiritual “microdust” that is produced when we sow seeds of selfishness through our daily choices.

So brothers and sisters, let’s not be the cause of nastiness but rather the bringer of clean air and blue skies!! And we can be so by being those that seek to ONLY sow the seeds of blessing others! That where ever we go and whatever we do, we will be those that ALWAYS make our decisions with others in mind. “Is the choice I’m about to make helpful or hurtful to others? Is it for the common good or just myself?”

By thinking and making our daily decisions this way, we will run the very high probability that we will be those that sow only good seeds to thereby ensure the reaping of a good harvest! To again, NOT be the cause of destructive, spiritual micro-dust blanketing everyone around us, but the bringer of ONLY spiritual clean air and blues skies for all to enjoy the fullness and freshness of life!! AMEN!!!
